On November 8th 2016, Hope Air is
Celebrating 30 years working hard helping low income Canadians who must travel
far from home to access healthcare.
According to the Web page http://hopeair.ca/
all started in November 1986 when Hope Air arranged its first flight for a
child from New Brunswick who had to travel to Toronto for Cancer treatment.
During its first year, 56 flights were arranged. Today, the charity has
arranged over 100.000 flights.
I have been volunteering for Hope Air since June 2013.
We can find among its volunteers and staff some characteristics that we can also
find through Canadian society: Kindness,
Hard Work, and Passion, but also, people who come from different cultural
backgrounds and have different native languages. In all the time I have been
participating in the activities of Hope Air, I found also different languages.
Besides the official Languages of Canada, English and French, languages that Hope
Air use in its Webpage and Contact centre, I also found people speaking in
different languages like Spanish, Russian, Farsi, Chinese, Arabic, Aramaic,
Bahasa, Dutch, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Korean, Italian, Tibetan
and Urdu.
Hope Air made possible that people from different
backgrounds work together with a common goal, bringing a great contribution to
Canadian society. My Best Wishes to this Amazing Organization!!!
